Don't try to rush yourself or force anything. I've learned that the hard way a couple of times. I believe "finding yourself" is a lifelong process.

I'm older than you are (fetch me a glass of water!) and I've got news for all of you. Happiness isn't what you think it is ... it consists of a routine that doesn't drive you insane. I'm home a lot, and there are crime dramas that keep me sane (solving them). When I'm at work, I have to have a podcast in my head, or I'm done. (if you have a good automotive one other than Car Talk, please fill me in). Now off to watch Star Wars in Machete Order (IV, V, II, III, VI) - and yes, the first one is gone. II and III give you the flashbacks you need to understand it all, and do not spoil the big reveal. Go forth, my son.

Maybe it's because I first saw the movie when I was a kid, and kids like goofy slapstickness. He's certainly less annoying than "edgy" Anakin, esp. in episode II.

Some people can live with JarJar and the trade dispute as a plot device. I saw IV in a theater as a kid, and felt betrayed when I came out. It's all perspective. Buddy of mine looking for advice on how to introduce his daughter to Star Wars - I recommended Machete Order. I think that kid will thank me some day ....

I don't like bowling.

A typical bowling outing consists of:

- Wearing used shoes

- Waiting for my turn

- Knocking down like three pins

- Waiting again

- Guttering it

- Waiting some more

- Getting my fingers stuck

- Leaving

I do not consider this to be a good time. If it weren't for the social aspect, I'd never go bowling ever. And then I would discover true bliss

Not automotive related, but "stuff you should know" is one of my favorite podcasts. The hosts, josh and chuck, love their job and are always excited to talk about whatever they're talking about that day. The topics can range from the crash of the Zimbabwean economy ($3,000,000 for a piece of toilet paper!) To how the curse of the mummy worked (it was mold). Awesome show and I've listened to almost 300 of the 600 made!

That's a tough one, man. I just did this in 2014, but it took a long time and effort to get out of my disthymic ways and build myself up. For me it was music (a long time interest, now almost a plausible career) and a book called Learned Optimism . I tend to treat that sort of crap as crap, but my amazing no-bullshit counselor recommended it and it was great.

Anyways, if you spend enough time being mindful of yourself and conscious of your feelings, everything internal should more or less align to everything else. And remember that you control your perceptions of reality and others' motivations.
